Getac S510 Overview
The Getac S510 is part of Getac's rugged clamshell laptop family. Joining the ultra rugged laptops such as the X600, V110 or B360, the Getac S510 fills a middle-of-the-road market that balances performance with durability. While not quite as durable as the ultra rugged laptops, the S510 provides desktop grade performance and a more budget friendly price point. With either an AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 or AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, the S510 is future proofed for increased AI usage. Built in AMD Radeon graphics and an optional NVIDIA Quadro graphics card, the S510 displays processor heavy tasks on a spacious 15.6 inch sunlight viewable display. With RAM options ranging from 16GB to 64GB and storage capacity ranging from 512GB to up to 2TB, the Getac S510 can be customized to fit most users performance needs.
Getac S510 Rugged Durability Ratings
While not quite ultra rugged, the S510 still ranks highly in durable effectiveness. With a MIL-STD-810H certification, the rugged laptop has a temperature storage rating of -60 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit and an operational range between -20 and 145 degrees. Featuring an IP53 ingress protection rating (See our full blog about ingress protection ratings here) the S510 is protected against limited dust exposure and splashes or sprays of water. With vibration resistance and a 3 foot drop rating, the S510 can give users peace of mind with their asset and data. If the S510 does receive damage within normal usage, Getac ensures it comes standard with their industry leading 3 year bumper to bumper warranty.
Getac S510 Optional Features
The Getac S510 as a slew of optional features that enable it to be customized to a number of different job parameters. Hardware optional features include a smart card reader, Micro SD card reader, a 2nd USB-C or USB-A Port, additional LAN (RJ45 port), Serial Port, Graphics card, or even a 1D and 2D barcode reader. Beyond external hardware upgrades, the S510 has a number of different wireless options that enable it with increased functionality in the field. 4G LTE, 5G and dedicated GPS are all optional features that can be added to an S510 configuration at time of ordering.
Getac S510 Optimal Applications
With its balance of affordable high performance and rugged durability, the S510 is ideal to a wide range of customer application. Since it is not ultra rugged, the S510 isn't designed to be operated constantly in harsh environments but is ideal for vehicle mounting or highly mobile job codes that require the unit to be transported often. With its vibration resistance and temperature tolerance, the S510 is perfect for public safety (notably police) vehicle mounting and can operate as a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) station or an in-vehicle workstation.
